Frontline Superhero Bears

As many of you are aware, lots of people are making all types of products for a large variety of reasons, quite apart from just covering time.

One of the big things that has been on social media this week has been

Frontline Superhero Bears

These bears have been knitted and crocheted wearing the scrubs of our frontline NHS staff, complete with their essential face mask.

Some people are giving them to the children of NHS workers, with their permission and keeping social distancing of course.   I understand there is a registered charity for this, but I cannot find any details regarding it, and if they still want them.

Some are putting them in their front windows either to show support for the staff, whilst also brightening the days for people who are on their limited exercise walk.   You can, of course, put another bear in the window if you wish to!

Please note that the crochet terms are US, so sc is our double crochet and hdc is our half treble crochet!

Ours have been made using Stylecraft Special DK using Mocha 1064 and Aster 1003

Other colours that people have used are Lincoln 1834   for a paler green , Aspen 1422 for a brighter green, Cloud Blue 1019 for a pale blue and Midnight 1011 for navy.  We also used White 1001 for the mask and a small amount of Black 1002 for the eyes, nose and mouth.

Please note, at the point of writing this, we have all the colours of Stylecraft Special Dk in stock, apart from the ‘marl’ colours and their new colours which have been released during this situation.  We also stock Toy Filling and Sheila can somehow manage to get a large bag of stuffing and 5 balls of Special DK in a small parcel!

We are posting out, but are unable to deliver or accept collections at this time. Please contact us by email if you want something posting out!  Postage charge applies, unfortunately.
