Octopus for a Preemie

Many of you will be familiar with

Octopus for a Preemie

and we know that many of you are making these fabulous creatures.

The octopuses are created to help support premature babies through their first struggles. Knitted and crocheted octopi tentacles resemble the umbilical cord which comforts and soothes the baby, therefore reducing the risk of them pulling or removing the tubes and leads.    We have lots of gorgeous 100% cotton, approved yarns in store to make your octopus, along with many of your favourite crochet hooks!

Our local coordinator is Zena Kay, and she coordinates the collection for both Milton Keynes and Stoke Mandeville hospitals, who need an average of 70 Octopuses every month!

Zena and the girls will be returning to The Spotted Sheep Studio on

Saturday 27th April, 2019  1.15-4pm.

to give help and advice on making your octopus whether it is knitted or crocheted. So come along, learn more about the charity and get tips and hints for making sure your octopus is just right!

Zena will also be in the shop for most of the day when she is not in the Studio, to answer any questions about the Octopuses and their purpose, as well as how you can help. We are hoping to raise some funds and support for this wonderful charity, as part of our Yarn Shop Day, which is on at the same time.

If you are interested in coming, please contact Zena on 07944127756 to confirm your place, as the available space naturally limits the numbers!!
