These simple flowers make delightful brooches to wear on sweaters, tops, coats or will brighten up a plain bag. Or you could attach them to florists wire and have a unique bunch of flowers, or even turn them into bunting…..the possibilities are endless!

Any yarn from double knit to super Chunky, knitting needles for yarn used, I.e. 4mm for dk, 5mm for ara, 6mm for chunky, 10mm for Superchunky and 12mm for mega chunky

Cast on 36 (44) stitches
Row 1 knit
Row 2 purl
Rows 3 – 6 as rows 1 & 2
Row 7 * knit 2 stitches together as if 1 stitch, repeat from * to end (18, 22 stitches)
Row 8 purl
Row 9 as row 7 (9, 11 stitches)
Row 10 purl
Row 11 * knit 2 together, repeat from * to last stitch, k1
Break off yarn and thread through the stitches on the needle, pull tight and secure.
Roll into a flower shape and sew to secure. Weave in ends. Roll it whichever way you prefer for a slightly different look.

Row 2 purl
Row 3 kfb (knit into the front and the back of the next stitch), k1, kfb (5)
Row 4 k2, p1, k2
Row 5 kfb, k3, kfb (7)
Row 6 k3, p1, k3
Row 7 knit
Row 8 k3, p1, k3
Row 9 knit
Row 10 k3, p1, k3
Row 11 k2tog, k3, k2tog (5)
Row 12 k2, p1, k2
Row 13 k2tog, k1, k2tog (3)
Row 14 k1, p1, k1

Row 15 slip the first stitch onto the right hand needle, k2tog, then pass the slipped stitch over the k2tog stitches. Break yarn and secure.Sew leaf to underside of flower.
