FRIDAY 17th MAY, 1 – 4pm  FINISHING TECHNIQUES 

❤️ Knitting but hate sewing up? Feel unhappy with the finished look of your project?

This is one our most popular workshops because you will learn to pick up stitches, different cast off techniques for a better finish, different methods of sewing up your projects, grafting and much more.

Please note – this is not for beginner knitters.  There is ‘preparation homework’ which must be completed and brought to the class.  See below for details.

FRIDAY 31st MAY, 1 – 4pm  LEARN TO KNIT on DPNs.

Learn to knit on double pointed needles using the traditional method of 4 needles.  You will require a set of 4mm Dpns, available to purchase in store if you do not have them!  We will provide the yarn and pattern to complete a project.

THURSDAY 6th JUNE.  6 – 8pm.  GRANNY SQUARE CROCHET

So you can complete a chain and a UK Treble in crochet, but want to learn how to do granny squares and other shapes?  This is the class for you!  You will need a 4mm crochet hook and we will provide the yarn.

FRIDAY 7th JUNE. 1 – 4pm.  NEXT STEPS IN KNITTING.

Have you mastered the knit and purl stitches? Ready to learn the next steps?

This workshop will show you how to increase, decrease, how to follow a pattern or basic chart and lots more!! You will be able to knit your first hat, garment or even this adorable little cardigan after this workshop!

Bring along your favourite knitting needles and yarn to match.

WEDNESDAY 12th JUNE, 1-3pm LEARN TO CROCHET.

Everything you require will be included for you to use and take home with you, including a pattern to make a mobile phone bag, which utilises the yarn and hook provided. .

You will learn how to make a slip knot, a chain, double and treble crochet stitches

and depending on time, even more!

Learn a new skill which is very relaxing when you’ve learnt and make something fabulous, perhaps even a new blanket to proudly leave over the sofa or a garment to wear and to show off your new talents.

When you’ve learnt, you will find this skill to be very relaxing, yet useful.

FRIDAY 14th JUNE, 1-4pm   A Brief Introduction to NEEDLE FELTING.

Do you fancy trying a new craft? Perhaps a craft where you need NO prior skills and just have fun?

Then, Needle Felting may be just what you are looking for!  Needle felting can be used to make decorations, pictures, embellishments, ornaments, jewellery, pincushions, buttons! and many more!

All  items will be included to start you on this new hobby.

FRIDAY 28th JUNE. 1-3pm AMIGURUMI for CROCHETERS

Want to be able to crochet toys, bags etc or just learn shaping?  Can you make a chain and a UK Double crochet?  Then this is the class for you! We will learn how to make a fun decoration and all you need to bring is a 5mm crochet hook. (These are available in the shop to purchase from just £1.95 if you need one!)  All the other products you need will be provided.

Refreshments will be provided, and hopefully fun and laughter!

KNITTING TECHNIQUES ‘HOMEWORK’

You need to do a little homework for this workshop (don’t panic it’s not a garment – only sample squares. You will need to bring 4 knitted swatches – any yarn except 4ply, but all the same weight of yarn, preferably Aran or Chunky – 25 Stitches, 3” Garter Stitch then 3” stocking stitch and ALL need to be left on the needle or a stitch holder. You will also need to bring a pair of needles suitable for the yarn samples, although we will have some emergency needles you can borrow if required.

If you wish to take a class but these classes are not convenient, please email the shop, stating what you are interested in and when you would prefer it and we will take this into account when we are arranging further classes.

We are also trying to ascertain interest in providing classes for Fair Isle Knitting, Magic Loop knitting, Knitting in the round (both with Dpns and circular needles),  Lace knitting, Beaded knitting, Knitting Cables & Bobbles, Refresher knitting courses, Brioche Knitting, etc.  as well as Corner2Corner Crochet, etc.   If you are interested in taking any of these, or have a suggestion for a class, please contact the shop as above giving appropriate details.
