The recycled polyester that is part of the Katia Genesis yarn is a high-quality 100% post-consumption material, that is, it comes from plastic waste collected from the sea.

You just need one ball of 150 grams and 600 meters of Katia Genesis to make a beautiful multicoloured shawl – in fact we have made a crocheted Edged Wrap using just 1 skein – the kit is available to purchase – just choose your colour of choice!

150g skeins of yarn, each with 600 meters. Recommended knitting needle size: 4-5 US / 3-3,5 mm and crochet hook size: D3-E4 US / 3-3,5 mm. Make a shawl with one ball of yarn. For the 4×4″ (10×10 cm) tension square work 30 stitches and 35 rows. Machine washable. Do not tumble dry.

This variegated yarn has beautiful colours in each skein and is really soft.

So, can it get any better?

Yes! As it states above, 50% of the yarn is made from plastic which is removed from the tons of rubbish which has been dumped in our gorgeous oceans.

The other 50% is cotton, so it’s ideal for summer projects or to use for someone with a wool allergy.
