King Cole 5788 Dk Cardigan and Sweater

King Cole 5788 is a Double Knit weight pattern which includes patterns for a sweater which has a boatneck cable neckline which continues down the sleeves, and also for a longline cardigan or jacket with a wide collar which will help to keep your neck warm.

The yarn which King Cole have used is called Harvest and comes in cakes with 535 metres.  It can be substituted with any standard double knit wool, perhaps plain colours like can be found in  Katia Basic Merino, a beautiful 50/ 50 Wool and Acrylic mix, Stylecraft Recreate, which is a recycled Wool, Polyester and Acrylic mix.  If you prefer a colour changing yarn, like the harvest, then I would recommend Stylecraft Batik Swirls, which is a 20% wool mixture which can be machine washed,  King Cole Bramble, 100% Acrylic or King Cole Beaches which has the lighter colours such as are in the patterns.
