Wild Wool by Erika Knight

Wild Wool by Erika Knight is a gorgeous yarn, an absolute pleasure to knit and crochet with and the results are real proof of time well spent on your project.   This yarn is a sustainable blend of soft wool and natural nettle fibre.  Spun from the fibre found inside the stem of the plant, nettle has been used for 2000 years for its strength nd durability as a textile. Nettle is grown abundantly and perennially in rainy areas worldwide (as many of us know only too well!). It is eco-friendly and sustainable.

Blended with luxurious wool, the nettle enhances the character of this yarn adding insulation and texture, which contrary to its prickly person, creates a sumptuously soft ‘Aran weight yarn in colours inspired by walks in the country.  Each 100g skein has 170m of a blend of 85% wool and 15% nettles.  The tension is 18 sts and 26 rows on 5mm over a 10cm / 4” square.  It is hand washable.

Why not try our Wild Wool 3 Skein Wrap, which as the name suggests, uses 3 skeins of this gorgeous yarn. This makes a wonderful, warm and cosy wrap which is perfect for wearing both indoors on a chilly evening, or outdoors to keep you feeling toasty! Just pick 1 skein of each of the 3 colours you fancy!  (We used Amble, Dawdle and Tramp.)  Click here for more information.

We have a fabulous Fingerless Plaited Mitten pattern which is highly suitable for using with just 1 skein of this fabulous yarn!  Please note that the photo shows the mittens made in Rowan Fine Art Aran. Perfect for gifts for knitters or for you to make and gift to people you love.
