Shop Reopening!!

Gentle Reopen to In Store Shopping

Government Guidelines stated that‘non essential’ shops (whooooo ooooooo that’s us!) could begin to reopen from 15th June, so we are back!

Many shops large and small are dipping their toes into opening up. Opening some branches  for large companies and less days and hours for all businesses, in order to provide a service with maximum safety and protection.

Initial reopening hours

10.00 am – 3.00pm

Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday

We will increase opening times as soon as we can, for now though and the next few weeks, it is just Sheila and Jacqui in store (Vi is on furlough but is still very much part of the team and as ever she is knitting lovely new samples for the shop in her own time ).

We need sufficient time to do all the ‘back room’ stuff – thoroughly clean and sanitise everywhere, take in (and sanitise) orders, check stock levels and place orders, see representatives to look at new products coming through and refill the shop shelves all whilst the shop is closed. Obviously this is not our ideal scenario, but we all three hope to back full time as soon as we can, so please bear with us.

So……..here is how you can shop with us for this next phase of creeping back to normal

1 ‘ Click & Collect’

This service will continue indefinitely, it is

Safe, Contactless and no entry to the shop is required!

To place your order, either order on the website (more ranges to be added as quickly as we can!), or phone the shop during opening hours on 01525 376456 or email us and we’ll get back to you.

Payment via, phone, website or contactless when you come to collect if you prefer, you choose!

Collection is from the ‘Click & Collect’ point at our back door, just follow the Sheep from the front of the shop!

2. NEW ‘Pick Up & Go’ service!

This is a new service that we are offering for those of you that know which yarns you want but would prefer to shop contactless, again, no entry to the shop is required.

When you arrive at the shop, ring the doorbell at the front or back door, and when either Jacqui or Sheila come to greet you, just let them know you would like ‘Pick Up & Go’ and we will be able to serve you.

Quick, easy, safe and contactless!

just pay at the Click & Collect point when you come (see photos above)

3 ‘In Store Shopping ‘ is back!!!

We have implemented lots of measures to keep us all protected while you shop, and so we can open safely. Many of us have been into shops where we haven’t felt safe and protected, and this is absolutely no what we want, we want to feel safe and we want you to be safe too, so here’s what we’ve done to make sure that’s the case.

There will be a 1, 2, 3 system operating

1. Ring the doorbell (at the usual shop door) and step back

One of us will greet you (we will be wearing face shields and gloves) and ask if you want to shop in store or use the ‘pick up & go’ service.

If you are coming in the shop, you will be required to wear a pair of disposable gloves (don’t worry, we give you these!) – this is for maximum safety and to ensure that there is no chance of cross contamination. Face Coverings are not natural to any of us, however if you have one, please feel free to wear one in the shop should you wish.

2. ‘Don’t flock together – keep 2 metres apart’  everyone is expected to be completely respectful of the 2 metre social distancing rule, both outside and inside the shop whenever possible.

3.  Maximum 3 customers in the shop at any one time

Obviously depending on where customers are in the shop will determine the numbers, please bear with us if you have to wait a few minutes, but it is for maximum safety for all.

The Government guidelines include advice on extra caution being exercised on being near a person who is not a member of your household for 15 minutes, especially indoors. As such we would feel that for maximum protection, 15 minute shop visits are safest for all. We really don’t want to rush people, and as you know, we really do like a chat and a catch up with you, but we are especially mindful of keeping everyone safe and well.

We have followed all Government guidelines and some that we have put in place for extra protection, so you will notice the following changes:

Baby gate at the front door and 2m waiting point

We will be wearing face coverings or face shields and gloves and Disposable gloves will be given to everyone coming in the shop for wool.

All chairs and tables have been removed from the shop, Almost all of the patterns are now in a pattern hub in the front section of the shop

Perspex sneeze screens around the counter area

15 mins safety window shopping time

New pay point with social distancing notices, a Perspex sneeze screen.

Here is what the shop looks like now ( its the same but adapted for maximum safety)

4. Postal service. We are, as ever, continuing to post out orders to those of you who prefer to shop this way, are shielding, self-isolating or just prefer to have yummy yarns delivered to your door, or live too far away to come to the shop. Orders can be placed as you have been doing, by the website, phone or email.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a

massive thank you to everyone who has continued to support us over the last 3 months, through Click & Collect and postal orders, your support means that we are still here and coming back!

We too have made a conscious effort to support the little independent businesses, so wherever you live and wherever you can, please buy locally and ensure that going forward our towns and High Streets stay alive,  diverse and bustling with life, variety and specialised knowledge.
