Erika Knight British Blue 25g £3.90

Erika Knight British Blue 25g is a beautiful and soft BRITISH wool that comes in gorgeous little 25g balls.

Each 55 metre ball is made of 100% Blue Faced Leicester wool and has a standard double knit tension.  It can be machine washed, though it is so fabulous you may want to hand wash it.

The yarn looks like it belongs in a sweety jar as they are so cute and enticing, with a wonderful range of colours.  The wool has a surprising softness to it along with a subtle sheen, and is highly recommended for keeping you warm and comfortable when the weather is colder.

Mysore Wrap

Mysore is a simple, relaxing wrap knitting pattern designed for Erika Knight British Blue dk yarn

The use of colour blocking and the addition of the tassels adds other dimensions to this wrap and these simple things really turns it into something extra special without having to work too hard to achieve this look.

The completed wrap is a fabulous 200cm long and 38cm wide, making it very versatile to style as a long scarf wrapping your neck in cosiness, or maybe you prefer to tie it the french way – folded in half and tucking the ends through the loop you created. A perfect wrap to play with and really make your own.

It is knitted on 5.00mm needles and the skills you need to make this are knit, purl, k2tog – knit the next 2 stitches together as if they are just 1 stitch (decreases by 1 stitch), kfb – knit into the front and back of the next stitch (increases by 1 stitch).

You will need 8 balls in 5 different colours;

1x 106 Milk Chocolate, 1 x 115 Mysore Red, 2 x 107 French, 2 x 107 Gift, 2 x 116 Mr Bhashin

If you would like to knit this wrap in an alternative yarn then the perfect alternative would be Katia Basic Merino dk, and because the meterage on this yarn is greater, you only need 1 ball of each of your selected colours – just click the photo to show you the colour choices.

The Cowl uses 2 balls each of 2 colours, so you’ll need 4 balls in total, whilst the mitts use 1 ball each of 2 colours, making 2 balls in total.  If you are making both items as a matching set, you’ll need 3 balls each of both your colour choices.  The hardest part will be choosing which 2 colours of these to put together; it’s like calorie free sweeties!    Perfect for a gift for for someone you love, whether it’s already made, or as a new project for them to make.  The pattern is free when you purchase the wool; just remember to add it to your basket so we don’t forget to pop it in with your wool!
