Louisa Harding Amitola

Louisa Harding Amitola yarn. What is it?

Amitola is a beautiful yarn, made up of 250 metres of a mixture of 80% Wool and 20% Silk.  The wool has variegated colourways which can be tonal, complimentary or contrasting, but which all knit or crochet effectively.

The yarn can be found described online as  Light Fingering weight, 4Ply or Double Knitting.  Versatile!

We have found that this mixture of yarn knits fabulously on 4mm needles and gives a fantastic finish for a garment, which is warm and yet still elegant.

The Taliesin sweater is knitted using 2 different colours of this yarn. although, obviously, it can be knitted using just 1 colour.

The sample you can see in our shop is knitted using 127 Amelia and 137 Obsidian, as the original 125 Sleepy Hollow mentioned on the pattern has been discontinued.
