What’s on the needles?

Ooooh!  Happy days!!

At the moment we are knitting a shawl in one of the most beautiful laceweight yarns.   We are using Manos del Uruguay Marina which is a 100% merino wool, lace weight yarn and has a variety of gorgeous space-dyed shades.    It is the softest, lace weight yarn and is even superwash!  Wow!  What’s not to love!  Difficulty Rating  **** Advanced

Manos del Uruguay is a non-profit organisation. It was created in 1968 to provide rural women with jobs in their hometowns. Today, 51 years later, they are still committed to the same objective; to give economic, social and personal development opportunities to the women in Uruguay’s countryside.

Then you may like what we are crocheting with some gorgeous Japanese Noro Silk Garden Sock Yarn.  It is becoming a scarf with a completely different look from anything we have done in the shop before!

The yarn is a fabulous blend of Wool, Silk, Polyamide and Mohair in wonderful variegated colours which Noro are famous for, and just lends itself beautifully to this creation, showcasing the amazing colours .

It uses just 1 ball of the yarn to make the scarf but will require 2 if you want to make it wider and into a wrap.
